An owl flew into Wychwood Manor this morning, heavily laden with a package from Celeena Cree. Despite being a Slytherin, Celeena is a most generous and gentle witch, and so I opened the package with excited anticipation of what I might find inside. I was thrilled to find a Hagrid themed kit inside, packed with wonderful handmade goodness and knitterly gifts.
I was a little nervous when I found Aragog inside the package...
And then another of Hagrid's friends, Norbert...
Celeena had also stitched a wonderful portrait of Hagrid with a quote of his that I love and shall embrace as a personal affirmation now...
She also enclosed a pen with prints of Fang's paws, a little elephant notepad (because Hagrid loves all creatures), and some of Hagrid's famous jaw-locking treacle toffee...
I love the little umbrella stitch-markers that she sent - so Hagrid, as well as the sock-shaped needle protectors in my favourite colour...
These are obviously intended for use when I knit up the Hagrid Illusion Shawl pattern that she sent, with yarn in Gryffindor colours, and the needles to make it with...
Celeena also included a packet of my all time favourite sweets - blackcurrant liquorice - YUM!!!
So feast your eyes on the fullness of my fabulous kit, they are no doubt green with envy, and understandably so...
Thank you Cleo - I love Hagrid, and this kit is so full of him, it is perfect! You truly are a wonderful witch, and I am so happy that you were my spoiler! {{{{{{Hugs}}}}}

Packing Again!
It doesn't seem like a whole term since I packed up my trunk to come to Hogwarts, but here I am packing again to go home for the summer. It was a great term, which is probably why it seemed to go so fast.
I had great fun with my wonderful sister with Emma Wigworthy co-ordinating Dueling Club, we had 2 divisions - one for knit, and one for crochet.
And quidditch was awesome this term - we had great referees, and all the houses got to play each other. There were a couple of matches where a house was short of players, so they pulled in subs, which is how I got to play for Ravenclaw in one of the matches.
The best part of all though was seeing how much my friend Olive Bumblebirch liked the Hermione Granger themed kit that I put together for her.
And I'm loving this part of the swap, seeing all the wonderful kits that students have put together for their friends - there is so much creativity abounding in our Hogwarts students.
Well, I really should get on with packing my trunk, otherwise I will be late to Hogsmeade Station to catch the Hogwarts Express home, so I really must dash...!!!

Olive's Kit
I am so happy that Specky arrived safely at Olive's with the package I had compiled for her, and absolutely delighted that she liked it so much. Apparently Mr Bumblebirch also liked it - he has been playing with the finger puppet I sent, and has pleaded with Olive to knit up some more diaper covers like the one I sent!
Olive took some great pictures of the package I sent, which you can see in her very generous account of it all in her magical journal. I especially like this picture she took of the SPEW jacket I made for her first baby who is expected in August.
I really liked the idea of making some buttons like the badges Hermione had made whilst at Hogwarts, especially as it is a slang word describing one of the things that babies frequently do! I made them with Shrinky Dinks and button hanks glued onto their backs.
In other news, my little wizard is going camping tomorrow with his cousins the Wigworthy boys, and I have to get on with packing up some stuff for him to take, so I must dash!!!

Specky Flies Again!
My trusty owl has taken off with Olive's package. He will find this trip quite daunting as he will be negotiating volcanic ash clouds whilst carrying this heavy burden across the big pond that separates us. I do hope he is going to be alright. This is what he is carrying...
And now I have to get a good night's sleep before the next Quidditch match - I am playing for Hufflepuff, currently slotted in as a Chaser. Must dash...!!!
